When giving feedback, it’s essential to do it in the right way. Whether you’re a flyer, base, or spotter, these principles apply to everyone involved.
1. Constructive Criticism: If you’re offering feedback, make sure it’s constructive and helpful. Avoid criticizing without providing solutions or suggestions for improvement.
2. Clear Communication: Be specific about what you need or want to change. Use action-oriented language rather than vague statements like “I feel this” or “I feel that.”
3. Identify Common Points: Find common reference points to communicate changes effectively. For example, focusing on the alignment of the hips can help both the base and flyer understand adjustments needed for stability.
4. Be Kind: Celebrate progress and small victories along the way. Positive reinforcement not only boosts morale but also enhances the overall training experience for everyone involved.
What are your thoughts on these communication principles? Share your experiences and let’s continue to improve together! 🤝

After witnessing a concerning fall recently, we felt compelled to create this safety guideline for back bird. It’s crucial to recognize that while acro is for everyone and can be a safe practice, it’s essential to follow guidelines and understand potential risks for each pose or trick attempted.
In our courses, we emphasize not only spotting techniques but also the principles necessary to ensure safety for yourself and others in case of unexpected falls.
Remember, safety is paramount—when in doubt or lacking experience, always use a spotter, seek classes from certified teachers, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Let’s prioritize safety and enjoy acro responsibly! 💪
Before attempting free star, ensure you have a spotter. If you’re gradually working towards independence, follow these steps:
1. Practice the bailout shown, ideally with a spotter assisting the flyer’s tilt and ensuring the base maintains 90-degree leg position.
2. Flyers, avoid holding onto the base’s legs during attempts; commit fully for better results.
3. Bases, engage your core and keep your legs steady, providing enough space for rotation.
Let’s prioritize safety and fun while collaborating! Special thanks to @bestofacrofails for raising awareness, and to everyone sharing their falls—let’s break the illusion of perfection and learn from each other’s experiences.
Still ALIVE!
🚨 Falling is an inevitable part of the acro journey, but how we fall makes all the difference. In today’s dynamic acro scene, the basics often take a backseat, leading to unnecessary injuries.
That’s why we’re launching a series of videos focusing on fundamental bailouts. These essential techniques should be part of every acro practitioner’s training regimen, ensuring safety and injury prevention.
Stay tuned for our upcoming videos and let’s prioritize safety together! 💪👀

🚨 Let’s talk about pre-requisites, acro people!
They exist for a reason, and that reason is safety! With the growing interest in acro, it’s crucial to emphasize the importance of mastering the basics before attempting advanced tricks. Rushing through without building a solid foundation not only jeopardizes your safety but also affects the trust others place in you and their safety during group practice.
As teachers, it’s our responsibility to enforce pre-requisites to ensure everyone’s well-being. Skipping this step not only undermines the learning process but also disrespects the efforts of instructors who set these standards for the safety of all participants.
Have you ever found yourself in a class without meeting the pre-requisites? Or as a teacher, have you encountered students who didn’t meet the requirements? Share your experiences!

Breaking down a new skill into progressions is important to leveling up your acro!
Behind every professional is hours of practice 💪
“It takes ten thousand hours to truly master anything. Time spent leads to experience; experience leads to proficiency; and the more proficient you are the more valuable you’ll be.”
