They exist for a reason, and that reason is safety! With the growing interest in acro, it’s crucial to emphasize the importance of mastering the basics before attempting advanced tricks. Rushing through without building a solid foundation not only jeopardizes your safety but also affects the trust others place in you and their safety during group practice.

As teachers, it’s our responsibility to enforce pre-requisites to ensure everyone’s well-being. Skipping this step not only undermines the learning process but also disrespects the efforts of instructors who set these standards for the safety of all participants.

Attitude Awareness🤸‍♂️✨

While attitude issues like this can also occur with flyers and spotters, it’s often more prevalent for bases. Bases, it’s crucial to recognize that what may seem ‘easy’ or routine from your perspective can be a significant challenge for flyers, in most of the cases they are the ones exposed to more danger.

For many of us, it’s about building trust, developing skills, and gradually progressing to higher-level tricks. Here are some key considerations:

1. **Perceived Difficulty:**
– Understand that what seems mundane or safe for you might be a thrilling or challenging experience for your partner.

2. **Building Trust:**
– Recognize the importance of building trust between you and partner. Start with foundational tricks, allowing them to gain confidence before progressing to more advanced moves.

3. **Respect his/her’s Pace:**
– We all have varying comfort levels and experiences. Respect others pace and preferences. It’s okay to start with simpler tricks and gradually advance based on their readiness.

4. **Communication is Key:**
– Foster open communication with your partner. Discuss their comfort level, any concerns, and be receptive to their feedback.

5. **Ask for Spotters:**
– Always be open to having spotters, especially if your partner requests it. Spotters enhance safety and provide an additional layer of support. It’s not boring, it’s safe!

6. **Consent and Agreement:**
– Before attempting higher-level tricks, ensure both you and your partner are on the same page. Consent and agreement contribute to a positive and collaborative acro experience.

Remember, the beauty of partner acrobatics lies in the partnership. Balancing perspectives and respecting each other’s needs lead to a harmonious and enjoyable acro practice! 🤝💫

Solo gym time or fun partner exercises? 💪🌟 Choose these Partner Exercises and Boost Your Acro Practice! 🤸‍♀️🤝

Exercise 1️⃣: Core Activation
Activate and strengthen your core for improved stability while flying and basing. In the first one keep your shoulders depressed while pulling on your partner legs. Next, keep your entire back on the ground as we work on the whole body. Ready? Let’s go! 💥

Exercise 2️⃣: Partner Push-ups
Level up your arm strength with four variations of partner push-ups. Choose your preferred difficulty level and make sure to communicate with your partner for a seamless workout. You want to feel the weight in your knuckles. Ready to feel the burn? Let’s push it together! 💪💦

Exercise 3️⃣: Trio Pull-ups
Balance your practice by focusing on pulling exercises. Trio pull-ups are fantastic for building the pulling strength necessary for stability. Go! 🦅

Strengthen those shoulders for controlled movements and graceful transitions. This exercise targets your shoulder muscles, giving you the stability and control you need. Focus on keeping your backs together. Let’s build those strong shoulders! 💪🔥

Time to get those legs ready for some explosive pops! Jump around, feel the rhythm, and prepare for the dynamic moments in your acro practice. Let’s bounce into action! 🦵🔥

Try this L-basing drill to progress to standing hand-to-hand! 🤝🤸‍♂️

Here are some tips for this H2H drill:

✴️ Synchronize the leg movement of the base with the leg movement of the flyer
✴️ Base makes a very long and controlled pop with the legs and delays the arm extension
✴️ Flyer opens the shoulders right after the pop and while extending arms and legs
