We love pretty pictures!

Let's face it, you can take a lot of pretty pictures with acro poses and therefore acro photoshoots are often very long. But remember that the poses don't have to be super complicated, often less is more.

Handstands - love them, hate them, love them...

The road to a straight handstand line is definitely not straight. Some days, nothing seems to work and it can be very frustrating.

Apart from being patient with yourself, @acrominx has great advice for the days where you do not want to go upside down:

'Aim to be the best spotter you can be. You will make many friends and by spotting, you are already improving your own line.'

Prehab queen Emily Baxter has some tips for your side planks:

• Instead of pushing the floor away, let the weight of your body sink onto the support shoulder and allow that shoulder blade to move towards the spine.

• Stack yourself well, it is common for the top shoulder to roll forward and the top hip to roll back.

• Get your 4 corners (shoulder and hip joints) aligned in one plane.

• Feet stacked and flexed, you are on the outer edge of the bottom foot.

• Find your hollow and don't forget to breathe!

We use prehab to balance out the intensity of our programs. Usually, we do side planks with a buddy, so you can check the alignment and encourage each other to hold the pose just a little longer. Tag your side plank buddy and save these tips!

Handstands; some days they are great, other days not so much.

To build a strong handstand practice, warming up and strengthening your wrists is important to be more stable upside down.

Solid advice from @acrominx, and something you can work on especially on days where you just cannot find your balance upside down.

This is what you mostly see, pretty pictures of a hand2hand at a beautiful location. No wonder everyone wants to learn this!

Before attempting hand2hand for a picture, outside and without a spotter, you need many hours of training with different bases, different flyers, heavy spotting and a little help from our friends.

We had so much fun this August with an amazing group of students on a journey to become Acro teachers. Whatever type of teacher they want to be, we always ask them to put FUN high on their priority list in their classes.
We like to teach by setting an example and I'm pretty sure you would agree with me: we NAILED it!!
