⚠️Are your shoulders too open in a handstand? 👉🏼A common cue in handstand training is to open your shoulders more.

However, one of the most common mistakes, specially if you have a lot of shoulder flexibility, is the shoulders being too open.

The line you want to create is between your first knuckle to your shoulders, not from the heel of the hand to your shoulders. 🤸‍♀️If you’re opening your shoulders too much you’re probably having your weight mainly on the heel of your hands, what makes balance way harder. Often this open shoulder position needs you to back arch to stay in balance.

Bringing your weight towards your knuckles and aligning your shoulders with them will allow you to create a hollow body.

Beware the water is not a safety blanket, there is a bottom and water dripping in the bases face doesn't make things easy.

Great challenge if you play it safe!

We have some decent breaks during the training day, some people use this time to rest...others just keep playing or chilling by the pool.

Have you tried these three different entries to he

Have you tried these three different entries to headstand?

These drills are very helpful for handstand entries later on.

Start in a tripod headstand position, your hands making an equilateral triangle with your head.

Execute each entry with slow movements and keep your shoulders moving away from your ears. Try not to jump!

Focus on developing strength and technique rather than just getting up.

Remember to use the wall or a spotter if this is your first try!

If this is too easy for you, try them from the forearmstand / handstand position.

If you have any doubts about bearing weight safely on your head/neck you could try a @feetup

Forearmstand! 💪
.
One of the advantages of forearmstand is that you can practice it even if your wrists aren’t strong enough for handstands yet or you have any injuries on them.
.
👉🏼How to forearmstand? 🔹Kneeling on the ground, place your forearms in front of you. 🔹Lift up your hips on top of your shoulders.
🔹Kick up one leg first, then the other. Find your balance. 🔹Keep your legs together, point your toes. 🔹If it’s your first time, practice with a spotter or a wall behind you first.

"I did my Partner Acrobatics teacher Training in Chiang Mai 2015. I really appreciated the vibe from day one.

TRAINING was HIGH QUALITY everyday with plenty of good humour. This kept the atmosphere light and the hole TT crew became FRIENDS really quick.

We were lucky to have 5-6 different teachers in our group and really got lots of quality training. VARIETY of styles and TECHNIQUES covered was amazing.

TT gave me understanding of the versatility of the practice and many tools to dive deeper. Laughter was as important as intense training.

This month spent with the Partner Acrobatics crew catapulted my life into teaching internationally and starting my own festival in Finland.
