Handstands are 🔑 for you acro practice

Let’s explore some of the incredible benefits of incorporating handstands into our practice! 🤸‍♀️💪

1️⃣ Core Strength and Stability: Handstands require a solid core foundation, and as acrobats, we know the importance of having a strong center. Regular handstand practice helps us develop core stability, improving our balance and control during acro moves. It’s like a secret weapon for nailing those tricky transitions!

2️⃣ Upper Body Power: When we kick up into a handstand, we engage our arms, shoulders, and upper back muscles. This builds strength and endurance, allowing us to effortlessly hold our partner’s weight and perform dynamic lifts with grace. Trust me, your flyer will thank you for those solid handstand arms!

3️⃣ Body Awareness and Control: Handstands require precise body alignment and awareness. As we work on finding balance and maintaining proper form, we develop a heightened sense of our body in space. This increased body control translates directly into our partner acrobatics, enabling us to execute moves with finesse and precision.

4️⃣ Trust and Communication: Handstands demand trust between the base and flyer. By practicing handstands together, we foster a deep sense of trust and enhance our communication skills, creating a stronger connection on and off the mat.

We all know that @elacroyoguier pops super high but something not many people know is how he trains for that.

Bases, here is a special selection of exercises for you to get stronger legs. This will enable you to throw very high and precise and, let’s not forget, receive your flyer.

Like they say, don’t throw it if you can’t catch it. In acro we need a very smooth reception, right flyers? 😉

Handstands are fun but once you try handstands on a buddy, there is no way back!

Trust me, all that you will be able to think while training your handstands, is gonna be on which body parts to try your improved upside-down balancing

Don’t get me wrong, this is not for everyone and a third person is required especially in the beginning

Jokes aside, grab your spotter and try these handstands on body parts. Hold tight for the next part!
